Federal Polytechnic Akanu Ibiam Courses and Admission Requirements
The Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana is situated in the Nigerian state of Ebonyi, in the city of Unwana. Founded in 1981, the polytechnic is a federally owned institution. It bears the name of Akanu Ibiam, the first governor of Nigeria’s Eastern Region during the First Republic. The school moved to its current location in Unwana in 1987 from its original location at the Federal Government College Okposi. In the fields of sciences, engineering, and humanities, there are five schools that offer programs leading to National Diplomas (ND) and Higher National Diplomas (HND).
The Nigeria Board for Polytechnic Education named the polytechnic in October 2003 as a center of excellence in the southeast because of its top-notch management and the level of its courses. The killing of an elderly woman at the school on September 16, 2008, led to a violent protest that required the school to be temporarily closed, resulting in significant property damage. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization chose the Polytechnic in October 2008 to build a top-notch information and communication technology center (UNESCO). A new library was being built as of November 2009.

The general cut-off score for Federal Poly Unwana is 120. You must receive a UTME score of at least 120 in order to be qualified to apply for the Federal Poly Unwana Post Utme.
