Atikori Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State is home to the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic.  The Ogun State governorship of Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo, which lasted from 1979 to 1982, is where the polytechnic’s beginnings can be found. The Polytechnic, Ijebu Igbo was made more of a reality thanks to the diligent efforts of many prominent Ijebu Igbo residents. The institution was founded and moved to the Technical College location during the second republic.
The government at the time prevented it from prospering, but the people of Ijebu Igbo did not allow the setback to stop them. They worked hard to see that Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic became the name of the institution in 2009. It bears the name of Chief Abraham Aderibigbe Adesanya, a prominent politician, advocate, and lawyer in the state and the surrounding area.
