Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2023–2024 List

In Nigeria, there are undergraduate scholarships available that are free to apply for. Because you don’t have to pay a cent and the majority of your college costs are covered, this type of grant is known as a free scholarship.

But, in order to be eligible for these university scholarships, you must meet certain requirements.

Moreover, these undergraduate scholarships occasionally become available in May, August, September, and November each year.

Take note that some of the aforementioned undergraduate scholarships are still active today.

i) SHELL SPDC JV Award for Undergraduate University Scholarships

The National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award are the two categories for this merit-based scholarship.

ii) NNPC/TOTAL Undergraduate University Scholarships

For Nigerians who are natives of the states of Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers, which are part of SPDC’s operational area.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Total Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P Nig Ltd), and Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), along with their joint venture partners, award scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in the nation’s tertiary institutions every year.

This college scholarship is for an undergraduate student who is enrolled FULL TIME in an accredited Nigerian university. Also, at the time of application, you must be a certified 100 or 200 level student.

iii) National Undergraduate University Scholarships from NNPC and SNEPCO

The initiative aims to enhance young Nigerians’ skills and promote academic performance. The successful applicant will get an annual award from their second year (200 level) till the end of their degree program.

The scholarship is valued at 200,000 Nigerian Naira.

iv) The Jim OVia Scholarship

Mr. Jim Ovia, who wants to support deserving young people in Nigeria financially, has fully financed this scholarship.  Students who qualify for the awards receive tuition and living expenses paid for the duration of their undergraduate and graduate programs.

The scholarship is valued at 150,000 Nigerian Naira.

v) NNPC/CHEVRON Scholarships for Undergraduate Institutions

The following Nigerian universities’ second-year (200 level) degree students are eligible for this scholarship:

Accounting, Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural Science, Architecture, Business Administration/Economics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science/Computer Engineering/System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Studies/Surveying Geology/Geophysics, Law, Mass Communication/Journalism, Mechanical/Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Human Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy, and Petroleum Engineering.

vi) The NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship

Through the National Merit Scholarship Awards Plan, NNPC, in partnership with ADDAX, gives scholarships to students (100L) in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

eligibility requirements

1) You must be a Nigerian.
ii) You must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student at a Nigerian tertiary institution at the 100 level.
iii) Must get five “0” level credits—including English Language and Mathematics—in a single session.

vii) NLNG University Undergraduate Scholarship Grants

The scholarship’s value has been increased from N100,000 to N300,000 per recipient for a full academic year, and it is valid for the duration of the student’s education.

viii) MTN Foundation Scholarship for Science and Technology

High-achieving second-year full-time students studying in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education) are the target audience for the MTN Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship program.

Existing awardees may continue to receive the scholarship each year until graduation as long as they have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 or its equivalent (second class upper/upper credit). New applications from full-time students in their second year of study are also welcome when they are advertised (200 level).

ix) DJ Cares Scholarships for College

There are two types of scholarships:

For continuously hardworking students with 2nd Class Upper Division or its equivalent each semester since university enrollment, the Game Changer Scholarship is awarded.

A Game Reformer Scholar is one who has significantly improved their GPA, attitude, and outlook since enrolling in the university. This improvement must have occurred over at least two consecutive semesters and be at least 2.0 points higher.
