Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a university in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. It is owned by the federal government. It was started in 1961 and was first called the University of Ife. In 1987, it was changed after the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a Nigerian politician and former premier of the Western Region.

The Agriculture School:

  • New students: between N66,700 and N70,700
  • Returning Students: N46,700 – N50,700

Faculty of Arts:

  • New students: N60,700 to N64,700
  • Returning Students: N40,700 – N44,700

Faculty of Education:

  • New students: N61,700 to N65,700.
  • Returning Students: N41,700 to N45,700

Faculty of Law:

OAU List of Courses Offered

The requirements for getting into OAU rely on what you want to study and what level of degree you want to get. But there are some general rules that all candidates must follow:

  • UTME Requirements: If you want to apply to OAU, you must have taken the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and gotten at least 200 points. The applicants must also have picked OAU as their first choice of school.
  • O-Level Requirements: Candidates must have at least five credit passes in relevant courses, including Math and English Language, from WASSCE, NECO, or GCE, with no more than two attempts. Some courses also require a certain O-level topic.
