About The School

Mater Dei Polytechnic is a private polytechnic located in Ugwuoba, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria.

It was established in 2015 and is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Awgu. The polytechnic offers a range of academic programs in various fields such as engineering, technology, science, management, and humanities.

The purpose of the organization is to give students the opportunity to receive the education, training, and experience they need to make meaningful contributions to society through the provision of high-quality education and instruction.

It was a challenge for the institution’s founder, Rev. Fr. Uche Igbomalu C.M.F., to create an institution that not only addresses the moral difficulties that are prevalent in Nigerian institutions of higher learning.

Before the national Board for Technical Education and the minister of Education gave their blessing for Mater Dei Polytechnic to begin operations in this year, the institution went through a number of phases that involved inspections and stages of growth.

Mater Dei Polytechnic Courses And Admission Requirements

Admission Requirement For ND

The admission requirements for National Diploma (ND) programmed at Mater Dei Polytechnic are as follows:

  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects including Mathematics and English Language at not more than two sittings in either WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or their equivalents.
  • Candidates must have written the current year UTME examination and obtained the prescribed cut-off mark for the polytechnic or have obtained the minimum required score in the polytechnic’s screening exercise.
  • Candidates are required to choose Mater Dei Polytechnic as their first or second choice of institution during JAMB registration.
  • Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 120 in UTME are eligible to apply for ND programmed in the polytechnic.
  • Candidates who did not choose Mater Dei Polytechnic as their choice institution in JAMB can still apply for admission into the polytechnic, provided they meet the requirements for admission.
  • Candidates are also required to participate in the polytechnic’s post-UTME screening exercise and obtain a satisfactory score.

How To Apply  For The School Post Utme

  • Visit the mater dei Polytechnics website
  • Click on “Admission” and select “Apply Now
  • Fill in the application form with the required details
  • Upload a passport photograph
  • Pay the application fee
  • Submit the application form

Admission Requirements For HND Program

The admission requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) programmed at Mater Dei Polytechnic are as follows:

  • Candidates must have completed a National Diploma (ND) programmed from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant field of study.
  • Candidates must have completed a mandatory one-year industrial training (IT) programmed after obtaining the ND certificate.
  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects including Mathematics and English Language at not more than two sittings in either WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or their equivalents.
  • Candidates must have written the current year UTME examination and obtained the prescribed cut-off mark for the polytechnic or have obtained the minimum required score in the polytechnic’s screening exercise.
  • Candidates are required to choose Mater Dei Polytechnic as their first or second choice of institution during JAMB registration.
  • Candidates are also required to participate in the polytechnic’s post-UTME screening exercise and obtain a satisfactory score.
  • Other requirements may include evidence of birth certificate, academic transcripts, and other relevant documents as may be specified by the institution.
  • Candidates must have graduated from an accredited institution’s National Diploma (ND) program with a grade of Lower Credit or above in order to be considered for admission into above National Diploma (HND) programs.
  • During their JAMB registration, candidates are required to indicate that they would like to attend Mater Dei Polytechnic either as their first or second choice of institution.

Mater Dei Polytechnic Cut Off Mark

Mater Dei Polytechnic has disclosed the minimum score required for admission to its program for the 2023/2024 academic year. The cut-off point for admission to Mater Dei Polytechnic is determined by merit as well as the benefits of the Catchment region.

The application form is available to everyone who submitted a JAMB result that was at or above the official minimum qualifying score of 150. Prospective students should be aware that a higher JAMB score puts them in a better position.
