About The School

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is a college that opened in 1983. In 1984, the government shut it down, but in 2002, the Federal Government of Nigeria brought it back. The university uses a method called open and distance learning (ODL), which lets students study from anywhere and at any time without having to go to physical classes. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given the university its seal of approval. It is the biggest university in Nigeria, with more than 500,000 students.

NOUN School Fees

When compared to other traditional universities in Nigeria, the tuition fees for undergraduate studies at NOUN are not too high.
Depending on the program, a bachelor’s degree program at NOUN costs between N18,000 and N45,000 per term. Depending on the school, the length of an undergraduate program at NOUN can be anywhere from four to six years.
Postgraduate schools have higher tuition costs than undergraduate programs, but they are still pretty cheap. Depending on the program, a master’s degree program at NOUN costs between N45,000 and N90,000 per semester. NOUN Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Applicants must have earned at least five credits in relevant areas, such as math and English, in no more than two attempts.
  • Candidates for Direct Entry must have a National Diploma (ND) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit in relevant fields from a school that is recognized.
  • You can also apply for straight entry if you have an International Baccalaureate, Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), or Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) certificate.

Postgraduate Programs:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
  • Applicants with an HND and a Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized institution in a related field can also apply.
  • Candidates with professional credentials like ACA, ACCA, ACMA, and ACIA are also welcome to apply.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must be at least the minimum age for admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
  • Candidates must show proof of their National Identification Number (NIN) or NOUN Student Identification Card.
  • Candidates must sign up for the university’s screening exercise and take part in it.

NOUN Hostel Accommodations

Both undergraduate and graduate students can stay in the hostels at NOUN. The prices for rooms in hostels change based on the type of room and where the hostel is.
The cost per lesson ranges from N20,000 to N50,000. The fees cover the cost of housing, water, and energy. But students have to bring their own blankets and other personal things.
