About The School

The Federal College of Education Katsina started in 1976 following the creation of additional seven colleges of education by the Federal Government to train teachers for the then newly introduced Universal Primary Education.

The college was established on the 17th November, 1976. It was one of the seven new federal colleges of education established by the Federal Government to implement the then newly introduced Universal Primary Education Program. The pioneer Provost of the College was Alhaji U.A. Dambatta.

The college started with 200 students in the Arts and Sciences. The student population has grown over the years and the college now has well over 5,000 students pursuing degree programs in Education, Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, Vocational and Technical Education.

The college runs National Certificate in Education (NCE) and Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) programs. In addition, the college offers Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) and Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programs. The college has also introduced degree programs in Vocational and Technical Education as well as Sciences and Arts.

The college has produced many distinguished teachers, administrators and professionals serving the nation in various capacities. The college has maintained high academic standards as evidenced by excellent results in the NCE examinations conducted by the National Commission for Colleges of Education. The college has also won many laurels in sports, debates and cultural activities at national levels.

Admissions Process and Requirements for FCE Katsina
