About The School

Federal University of technology, Akure (FUTA) is one of Nigeria’s top technical universities and a source of great pride for the country. A comprehensive public university, FUTA was founded in 1981 as one of Nigeria’s three main technical institutions. Since its founding in 1982, the university has expanded significantly, distributing its research and academic specialties among eight different schools and more than fifty academic departments.The goal of FUTA is to improve technology by creating an atmosphere that fosters research, teaching, and learning and encourages the creation of technologically advanced, self-sufficient, and societally relevant goods.In Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, there is a federally funded university called the Federal University of Technology Akure. FUTA Courses And Admission Requirements

FUTA Admission Requirements

The following prerequisites for FUTA candidates are stated below. Each institution has its own requirements that applicants must meet before being admitted to their undergraduate programs:

  • Chemistry, English,physics and Mathematics are required for the UTME.
  • Five Credit Passes at Senior Secondary School Certificate with English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Agricultural Science as required(WAEC and NECO)

Direct entry Requirements:

  • Minimum credit passes in two A’ level topics, such as math, physics, or chemistry.
  • A national diploma in computer science with at least upper credit from an accredited polytechnic or its equivalent; and.
  • NCE with a minimum credit pass in physics, mathematics, and computer science.

Post Graduate Requirements:

A respectable Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from another accredited university. The candidate must also hold a postgraduate diploma (at upper credit level) in the relevant discipline in addition to a Higher National Diploma of at least Lower Credit level.

FUTA School Fees

According to the increased tuition prices that were proposed, returning students from the 100th to the 500th level who currently pay between N14,000 and N16,000 would now pay N60,000, while newly admitted students who were expected to pay a total of N50,000 will now spend almost N100,000.

Acceptance Fees:

The Federal University of Technology Akure’s (FUTA) acceptance fee is N45,300 [forty five thousand three hundred naira only] for the 2023–2024 academic session. This cost is required of all incoming 100L students and is not refundable.Freshmen must pay an acceptance fee to demonstrate that they have accepted the admission that has been given to them. Please be aware that you risk losing your admission if you don’t pay this price within the allotted time.

Post Graduates Fees:

The list below includes the current academic session’s postgraduate school fee schedule for Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

The FUTA postgraduate school fees for the first semester range from N110,000 to N150,000, while those for the second and third semesters are roughly N90,000 and N50,000, respectively.

On the other hand, first-year students must pay somewhere between N200,000 and N300,000 for all costs, including housing in a dorm.

FUTA Cut Off Mark

A student must receive at least 180 on the recently completed JAMB exam in order to apply for the Federal University of Technology Akure POST UTME. This is because the FUTA minimum Jamb cut-off grade for the 2023–2024 academic session is 180.

FUTA Hostel Accommodation

Both indigenous and non-indigenous students can stay in hostels at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), especially if they live far from the campus.

N90 beds are available in the old and new hostels.

For the previous hostel, maintenance costs are N8000, while those for the new hostel are N18,000.
