FUTIA which is the acronyms for the federal University of technology Ikot Abasi,Akwa Ibom state it is also one of the universities that was established in the sixth month of the year 2021 by the Federal Government of Nigeria.The Federal University of Technology, Ikot (FUTIA) aims to produce good and High-Quality Health and Medical Professionals with skills and broad knowledge, that will be able to strengthened the institutional capacity for surveillance,disease control and also stand as a bridge in the medical research in the Country.

FUTIA Admission Requirements

Undergraduate requirements:

Every institution have their requirements which candidates must achieve before gaining admission for their undergraduate’s programs.

Below listed are the requirements for FUTIA candidates:

A candidate is expected to have 5 credit pass in his/her SSCE examination results.
Applying candidates are expected to gain admission through the examination board known as JAMB ( Joint admission and matriculation board).
Candidates who meet up the admission requirements after sitting for the exam are expected to undergo screening by the University.
Candidates must have credit pass in English and mathematics which are compulsory subjects.

A direct entry applicant must have two ‘A’ level pass in relevant courses or National Diploma (ND) with credit pass.
A direct entry candidate is expected to have credit pass in English language and mathematics which is compulsory for all courses admission requirements.
Candidates should note that the University will not accept transfer student except it has clocks it’s first two years of existence.

Post graduate requirements:

The following are requirements for post graduates candidates:

A post graduate applicant must be a graduate from one of the well recognised federal University.
A post graduate applicant must have not less than 3.5 GPA and above from a recognized University.
A post graduate applicant with holder of PGD or PGDE,HND certificate should satisfy the basic requirement or ordinary GCE level requirements with at least 5 credit in relevant areas for qualification.
Candidates must have HND credit pass or a first degree merit pass at least.
candidates must also have the basic University requirements in SSCE,GCE,WASC with at least 5 credit pass.
English and mathematics is compulsory for candidates to have achieved according to the department concerned.
Candidates with good CGPA of 2.40(second class lower) from a recognized University may be admitted if they requirements are met in relevant areas.

FUTIA Cut- off Mark

Every high institution have cut off marks to qualify candidates admission, therefore Candidates applying for The Federal University of Technology, Ikot, Abasi,Akwa Ibom state screening is required to have not less than 180 marks which is the general approved cut off mark and above in the recently written exam conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to qualify for the admission into FUTIA.
