1.Yaba College of Technology
At Yaba, Lagos, there is a federal polytechnic called Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH). It is one of Nigeria’s oldest and top polytechnic institutions. It began to exist in 1947.
Yabatech has gained more applicants since it was one of the first institutions to create a center for entrepreneurship. Three times in a row, it has won the award for best polytechnic. YABATECH features a satellite campus in Epe as well as an open, flexible, and distance learning center.
2.Auchi Polytechnic
Auchi Polytechnic (AUCHI POLY) is one of the top polytechnics in the nation, similar to Yabatech. One of the original four polytechnics in Nigeria. It began as a technical college in 1963 before becoming a polytechnic in 1973.

Before shifting to its current location in Nekede, it was first founded by the Imo State government as the College of Technology, Owerri, on a temporary site at the grounds of Government Technical College.
The Polytechnic changed its name to The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede on April 7, 1993, and became a federal government institution.
5. Ibadan Polytechnic University.
In Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, there is a polytechnic called The Polytechnic, Ibadan (Poly Ibadan). It was established in 1970, and its alumni have made major contributions to the social and economic advancement of the nation and beyond.

7. The Polytechnic of Osun State.
As a satellite campus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan (POLY IBADAN), Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) was established in 1981. Yet it was upgraded to a full-fledged institution in October 1992. It was established to provide middle-level personnel in the management, financial studies, information and communication technology, environmental studies, and science and engineering disciplines with training.
8. Federal Polytechnic in Oko.
Located in Oko, Orumba North Local Government, Anambra State, the Federal Polytechnic, Oko. In order to educate candidates for the General Certificate in Education (GCE) examination at the ordinary and advanced levels, it was founded in 1979 as a College of Arts and Sciences.
The Anambra State Government changed the institution to a College of Arts, Science, and Technology on June 28, 1980 as it grew in popularity and attracted more school dropouts. The Anambra State Polytechnic, Oko, was formally founded as an institution in 1985.
But, after assuming control of the Polytechnic in 1993, the Federal Government changed its name to Federal Polytechnic, Oko. There are campuses at Ufuma and Atani in addition to the main campus in Oko.
Federal Polytechnic Oko is currently regarded as one of Nigeria’s top polytechnics and one of the most well-known colleges among applicants to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Test (UTME).
9. Imo Polytechnic.
Another federal polytechnic that has made a significant contribution to Nigeria’s educational system is Imo State Polytechnic. One of Nigeria’s top polytechnics, it has grown in popularity among candidates.
It was founded in 1978 as the Michael Okpara College of Agriculture, Umuagwo, but changed its name to the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, in 2007 when it was granted polytechnic status.
After a directive from the Imo state government, the Polytechnic academic board met on November 3, 2021 to decide to move the Umuagwo campus to the Omuma, Orlu, and Mbano campuses.
The Polytechnic management has ordered all schools and departments to move to their respective campuses in accordance with the aforementioned decision and instruction.
10. Kaduna Polytechnic.
The necessity for a technical college in Northern Nigeria gave rise to the Kaduna Polytechnic (KADPOLY). In 1956, it was founded as Kaduna Technical Institute. Kaduna Polytechnic, however, became the name of the institution once the Federal Government acquired control of it in 1991.
The institution was established to offer public officials in Nigeria diversified education, training, and research in the humanities, sciences, commerce, and technology.
