Federal Polytechnic Nekede Courses and Admission Requirements

Nekede, Owerri, Imo State is home to the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, a government-owned higher education Institution.

The Institute of Technology, Owerri was founded by the Imo State government in 1978. It was then placed to a temporary location on the grounds of Government Technical College. But, it changed locations and is now located in Nekede, Owerri.

On April 7, 1993, the college was elevated to the status of a federally funded institution. The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede received its new name.

Federal Polytechnic Nekede

In October 2018, Rev. Engr. Dr. Micheal Arimanwa was appointed as the institution’s first alumni rector and eighth polytechnic rector. There are five schools within the organization: the School of Business Management Technology (SBMT), the School of Environmental Development Technology (SEDT), the School of Engineering Technology (SET), the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS), and the School of Industrial and Applied Science (SIAS).

Requirement forĀ  Entry

The following are the admission requirements for all National Diploma (ND) Programs:

  • The WAEC/NECO or NABTEB (O’level Exams) require five (5) credit passes in pertinent topics, including English language and mathematics, earned in no more than two sittings.
  • Possession of JAMB subjects that are appropriate Combination for the applied-for course.
  • Candidates should visit the Polytechnic website at http://www.fpno.edu.ng/ for information on entry requirements.

How it is Applied

  • Visit the webpage of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri at fpno.edu.ng.
  • Click on the Admissions button.
  • Decide on a program type
  • Create a bill for the application form.
  • Pay your invoice using your ATM or debit card at the bank or online.
  • Make a payment of N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) at any bank of your choosing solely using the Remita Number (RRR). Moreover, you have the option of paying using a VERVE, VISA, or MASTER CARD. If you select the card payment option, you will be prompted to provide your card information so that your payment can be processed right away.
  • Fill out the application as necessary.
  • Print your appreciation slip after finishing the application.
  • To pay for O’level verification, go here.
  • Print the O-level Verification Certificate to check the accuracy of the O-level verification and to see if any corrections or re-verifications are necessary.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY TO THEĀ  HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND)

All Higher National Diploma (HND) Programs have the following entry requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to acquire National Diploma in their chosen programme from any recognized/accredited Polytechnic or Monotechnic.
  • Also, candidates must have completed the WAEC/NECO or NABTEB (O’level Exams) with at least five (5) relevant O’level credit passes, including English language and mathematics in no more than two sittings.
    Applicants must have at least 12 or 24 months of industrial training experience after receiving their national diploma.
  • Candidates can visit the Polytechnic website at http://www.fpno.edu.ng/Ā for information on the specific entry requirements for each Higher National Diploma (HND) program.
  • It is important to Emphasize that any falsified information entered during the online registration process will result in the candidate’s disqualification at the time it is found.

HowĀ  ItĀ  Is Applied

  • All applicants MUST first visit the school’s website at http://www.fpno.edu.ng/, click on the “Application form’s link” link on the home page, then select HND to continue.
  • Fill out the form with your biographical information to generate an invoice. Print or copy the invoice number (you can do this on your mobile phone).
  • Go to Federal Polytechnic Nekede Microfinance Bank or any other bank of your choosing and use the RRR number on the invoice you created to make a payment of (N12,000.00) Twelve Thousand Naira only on the Remita platform. Moreover, you have the option of paying using a VERVE, VISA, or MASTER CARD. If you select the card payment option, you will be prompted to provide your card information so that your payment can be processed right away.
  • Visit the school’s website once more at www.fpno.edu.ng, select “application form,” and finish the application procedure. Print off your acknowledgment slip after providing your details as prompted. You will return to the gateway right away to print your receipt and acknowledgment sheet if you pay with a card.
