AFIT Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen or permanent resident between the ages of 16 to 22.
  • Have completed secondary school education with a minimum of 5 credits in relevant subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.
  • Meet the minimum admission criteria for your program of choice. For example, to be admitted into engineering programs, you need credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. For aeronautical engineering, further credits in Technical Drawing and Geography may be required.
  • Have a minimum of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Some programs may require higher scores. For example, 210 may be required for engineering and medical programs.
  • Be medically and physically fit according to the Air Force medical standards. All candidates shall undergo medical screening to ensure they are fit for military training.
  • Be of good character and pass the Air Force screening test. Candidates found to have questionable character may be disqualified.
  • Be ready to undergo a one-year preliminary military training at the Nigerian Air Force Military Training Center in Kaduna before the commencement of academic studies.

Meeting these admission requirements is necessary to gain entry into the Air Force Institute of Technology. If selected, you will receive world-class education and training to prepare you for a career as an officer in the Nigerian Air Force. Continuous assessments and a final examination must be passed to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree after a 4-year program.

AFIT School Fees

The tuition fee for the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) varies depending on the program of study. The school fees for this school range from N76,800 to N140,500 depending on the level of the student and the courses offered by the student.

AFIT Hostel Accommodation

The Air Force Institute of Technology offers comfortable hostel accommodation for students within the campus.

The hostel accommodation fee is N25,000 per session. This fee covers hostel maintenance, security, electricity, and water. Students are responsible for other personal expenses like food, laundry, medicals, etc.

The hostel fee can be paid in full at the beginning of the session or in two equal installments at the beginning of each semester. A 5% surcharge is applied for late payment after the deadline. Students should pay the hostel fees into the institute’s account and submit the original teller for documentation and room allocation.

  • Allocation of rooms is based on availability and is not guaranteed. Priority is given to students who have paid their hostel fees early.
  • Cooking and pets are not allowed in the rooms.

  • The institute reserves the right to conduct room inspections at any time. Students are expected to maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Any damage to hostel property will attract appropriate sanctions and the cost of repairs or replacement.
